Talkabout Primary MFL

A network for anyone teaching languages in Primary

Another great conference is coming up soon for those in the Hampshire / Comenius SE area. Let's Go Wild is at Marwell Hotel (next to Marwell zoo, Winchester) on Tuesday 14th October. It's great value and there are some top speakers including;
Lid King (DCSF) the big cheese himself (as it were) who will be presenting the keynote speaches with Nigel Pearson from CILT.

Nigel is also presenting a 'Magic' workshop later in the day which will be good fun for all.
Joan Dickie from Norfolk has kindly agreed to talk about planning for Mixed-age classes,
Julie Prince has a very practical session to incorporate phonics and
Louise Pagdon has some innovative hands-on cross-curricular activities.
Anne Feltham will be taking a look at the Ofsted perspective, while
Bob Thomas has some great ideas for Language Learning Strategies.
Greg Horton Langages Lead Practitioner and AST will present 'Group Talk for KS2' and
me(!) NO don't laugh, I'm exploring the electronic jungle - lots of ppt ideas to support the classteacher & checking out some web 2.0
I am really hoping Joe Dale is going to be able to present too - he's getting back to me asap so when I know you'll know.
The whole day is only £60 and time is running out, so to book, please contact Comenius South East, University of Southampton, Building 65A, Avenue Campus, Highfield Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ, or fax 023 8059 4815, or email it to comenius@soton.ac.uk

Hi Jan - thank you! Was very disappointed when Julie said you wouldn't be able to make it - hope to see you at the Language show again ....or before maybe?!

Hi Jo
Julie phoned me recently to ask me if I would run a session; really sorry that I had to say no this time. I'm working for Cambridgeshire this year and so my time is more limited at the moment.
Congrats. on your new job; I guessed you'd gone to Hants.

All the best,

Jan
