Talkabout Primary Languages

A network for all who teach languages to children

A couple of weeks ago I discovered that we had in the LA a very talented French assistant who sang and played the guitar. Last week we set up an impromptu recording studio at the Sandhill Centre and recorded 25 French songs, some traditional, some not so traditional. I'm so glad I found out about her the week before their contract ended and not the week after ! You'll find all the songs in mp3 format here http://www.sunderlandschools.org/mfl-sunderland/resources-sound-fil... ready to download for free, along with the lyrics and translations of each song. I've put in links to sheet music for as many as possible, and will be putting together (in time!) sheet music for those that I haven't been able to find. Let's have the French Hokey Cokey being sung in primary schools across the land !

All together now: Je mets le doigt devant, je mets le doigt derrière....

hokey cokey.flpWhat a super collection - so far I've only listened to a couple including the Hokey Cokey but I will definitely be downloading and saving to disk! The children at my school love the Hokey Cokey but we normally use the Skoldo version in their Gentil Allouette song book but the lyrics are available to download free of charge on their website. Also here's my simplified Active Primary version of the song words which just uses two parts of the body (la main et la jambe). Hopefuly it will come in useful for somebody!
