Asset/CILT assesssment for KS2

(Apologies to anyone who has received this message via the mailtalk forum) Picked up this, that I knew nothing about; has this information gone out to all primaries now? Is the same material available for LAs, other than the pdf examples on the site? Can anyone here give us more information? During the first half of May, every primary school in the country will receive a taContinue

More Red Noses for tomorrow

Here's a copy of a post I sent to the NACELL forum, apologies if you've seen it already: We’re all looking for opportunities to incorporate a little language into everyday classroom routines; on Friday children are likely to bring their Red Noses to school, so we might as well use them for our purposes: The noses themselves make great finger puppets and this year’s seem pretty robust and malleable so could make useful additions as permanent props. The comptine `J’ai un gros nez rougeContinue

Galette des Rois

I happened to be in London today and was rather keen on buying a Galette des Rois from Paul at St Pancras but at £15 a pop I thought it was a bit steep, even though it had all the add-ons (fancy box, crown and no doubt a feve, but I couldn't see that!) Anybody know anywhere else? And yes, I know I could make one! Jan, again. Continue

Planning for 2009

Happy New Year to everyone in all sorts of languages! Its never too soon to start planning! Currently Lidl stores have large laminated maps of Europe and of the World. All cities, seas etc are written in the language of the country, for example the English Channel is also labelled as La Manche. These maps have a write-on, wipe-off surface making them ideal for class use. There are illustrations of all the countries’ flags as well and even a set of drawing pins! At only £2.50 each I think these… Continue
