Monsters Rock!

Class Panda has been studying vocab and describing people recently, and they drew some exceptionally cool monsters in the process. I want to keep a record of this type of work for both the students and myself, so I have set up a wiki for each of my classes; giving each student a page to keep any projects they do. Hopefully the students will enjoy the process and see their own development over time. Also, I have set up a wiki to collect projec… Continue

Ni hao, Kirstie! I taught EFL in China from 1987-9, at Xinjiang Engineering Institute in Urumqi.I loved Xi'an, although I only visited it a couple of times. Sorry to hear about the earthquake. Who do you teach Chinese to? My chinese was pretty poor then and is even worse now; I can still manage jintian tianqi hen hau, bu leng, bu ri. (Chapter One, Colloquial Chinese!) And I never starved!
Zaijian, pengyou!

Dear Kristie

I am sure you will love our friendly group. You may be interested in the links to Chinese resources I have on my blog. To find the links, go to My Languages then scroll down to a long list of keywords to the right (delicious tags), just click on the relevant keyword to get an updated list of links to resources e.g. Chinese...What other langage do you teach? I do have links for a wide variety of languages and it may be worth checking what I have for all the languages you teach. I can't guarantee the quality as I am not a Chinese teacher, so do let me know if some are decidedly dodgy. I see Jess McCulloch is one of your friends. I you haven't done so already, check her blog as she is a Chinese teacher. She also has some great ideas on how to integrate ICT in language teaching (I have many links to Jess's blog from my blog as we have both set ourselves "The IWB Challenge", sharing weekly new ways of using the IWB for language teaching).

I hope it is of use...
