Hi everyone!
My name is Tina and I have been teaching Greek in primary (elementary) school since 1982. In Australia, we used to call our language area of the curriculum L.O.T.E, which stands for Languages Other Than English. We are now calling it 'Languages' and our mother tongue programme is called "First language maintenance and development" - quite a mouthful!
I am also a general classroom teacher and I have specialised in teaching the Arts, specifically drama and music. I am currently training 2 choirs at my school and teach drama to classes from Year 3 to 5.
I am very passionate about my teaching and I try to motivate and enthuse my students in their learning by opening up their world to the many experiences and wonders found beyond their doorstep.

Hello Tina,
I am a mfl coordinator in england and teach French. However one of my collegues teaches greek and has asked me to get her some resources. I have looked on the net but don't seem to be able to find anything! Can you recommend any good websites where you can buy things e.g. story books, cd/ tapes of greek songs? any suggestions would be great thanks!
Hi Tina - welcome to the network which I hope you find useful, fun and friendly. Thanks for explaining LOTE - I finally understand why Jess McCulloch's blog is called technoLOTE! I'd been wondering what a LOTE might be... doh!

I am sure you will love our little group. Greek is an unusual language in the UK but it is such a beautiful language...
I have collected a few links to Greek resources on my blog. If you wish to look at them, please go to My Languages and then scroll down and click on the "Greek" delicious tag on the right (from the long list of keywords). Let me know if they are any good, as I am obviously not a Greek speaker!
I hope it is of use...
