Cloud Cuckoo World is a story based site which supports the delivery of the Key Stage 2 non statutory framework for Languages and covers the QCDA suggested topics for primary school children.

Aiming to provide an accessible introduction to languages for children from 4 years upwards, the site incorporates old fashioned storytelling in a fun online interactive environment, to engage and immerse children in a new language experience and help to foster an early enthusiasm for foreign language.

The dual language stories, based on a host of bird characters, incorporate English and French audio resources and children are able to click on loud speaker icons to hear unfamiliar sounds repeated. Each story is accompanied with an interactive glossary and follow up activity ideas to reinforce new language learnt. In addition children can visit ‘places’ within Cloud Cuckoo to learn vocabulary specific to a certain area such as the school or the home.
