I've been teaching primary German since 2006 and started with French in March 2008. Am loving the French and hoping to expand on this and have just set up as a licensee for La Jolie Ronde. But finding it more difficult to get hold of really good German resources. Previously I taught GCSE and A level French and German, but that seems like another lifetime now.
I have created a blog for children at my school. You can visit it at: http://hamletsfriend.edublogs.org/
I teach languages to these Year groups:
I teach German throughout KS1 and KS2 with a little bit of Reception work too and French throughout KS2.
I'm a blog virgin - well I was until just now! I've been on dial-up for years and we've just got broadband so this is very exciting for me. I love the website and would like to try sharing this ppt with you. It's for Unit 5 of the QCA scheme of work les 4 amis. I used… Continue

Also have you come across Last word resources ? Researching the net for animal flip books, just found this site which have a lovely collection of German books at http://www.lastwordresources.co.uk/page80a.html. Don't know anything about the firm but they do seem to have a good selection of storybooks. Know any other sources for German texts?
Yes we're definitely endangered need to keep the profile up.!
Thanks for your encouraging comment on the German course in October - I really hope we can persuade some people to sign up. I'd love to go myself but will be speaking at Joe Dale's Isle of Wight conference - why do these things always clash!
Hi again - forgot to say before - the site is set up so that all blogs are automatically feature on the 'main' page and not just your own pages (unless you click viewable just by my friends or similar). Hope this is ok (if not leave a comment for me on my page or send me a message and I can sort it out so it just shows on your own page) - it's a great blog too!

Hello again!
Just left a comment on your Les Quatre Amis blog for you to moderate - it has details of how to get the accents etc on your laptop. Thank you for the ppt - it's great!

I am sure you will love our friendly group. You may be intested in the links to French resources I have on my blog as like you I am a French teacher doing primary liaison. I also have some German resources but I have not taught German for a while now. To find the links, go to My Languages then scroll down to a long list of keywords to the right (delicious tags), just click on the relevant keyword to get an updated list of links to resources e.g. French, German... You can filter for just Primary resources by clicking +primary to get a list of French/ German Primary resources only.
As for uploading to the site - if you want to be fancy this:
Have you tried Slide share by the way? It's free and you can upload powerpoint and then keep them private, share them with the world online and/or make them available for others to download in just a couple of clicks.
Then if you click on 'blog' at the top of your page, when you start a blog you can copy and paste the 'embed code' (shown to the right of any slideshare that is made public) and paste it into the blog. Or into one of the 'boxes' on this page by clicking edit. The site will sort the rest out for you and in a few seconds you should see your ppt on the site.
Or
Of course even easier is just to click on 'blog' write a few sentences about what you have been doing and then upload the ppt as an attachment by clicking on the icon that looks like a piece of paper. It works just like adding an attachment when you send an email.
Feel free to try out all the buttons - you get lots of chances to change your mind / delete stuff.
And thank you for your really nice comments. Made my day! ;0)
