Hi Jane
you left a comment on my wall, and I answered it on my wall. Not sure if that is the 'done thing', just to let you know!
Very interested in hearing what you do.
Helen
Hi Jane - sounds really exciting what you are doing - love the hands-on kinaesthetic ideas for language learning.
As for your Insurance question I must admit I don't know personally but someone must - you could try going to the 'forum' and posting this as a new discussion there perhaps? Helen Shaw runs her own Language teaching company and is a member of the site (search members) and might be able to advise if you leave a question on her page/click send a message under her name. I've an idea there are different rules for different age groups. It may be worth contacting an Insurance company used by childminders and asking about what they offer - you'll need your own CRB check I'm pretty sure.
Good luck and if I find anything out will let you know

I have been teaching IT, Spanish and English for 10 years and Family learning Spanish for about 5 years and decided I could go it alone! I am diversifying with complementary therapies so that I can find out which will take off best - I may need two premises! I like the idea of helping people communicate in languages and find I am able to do this. I am hoping to help children learn through interaction with different props such as dressing up clothes, musical instruments, shop products such as fruit and veg according to the Lesson subject. It's all a bit daunting and I am very busy - but thanks for the support. It's really helpful to know you are all out there.
I am currently trying to find the latest legislation on teaching 7-16 year olds in my training centre re insurance. Does anyone have any info on this please? I am covering myself for all possibilities but will I need to have a parent helper in the classroom with me. It is my own training centre so I won't be covered by a school policy for example.
Welcome to our friendly group! I hope you find it useful and I am looking forward to sharing ideas and resources with you. You may be intested in the links to the resources I have on my blog for French and Spanish as I teach both at Primary and secondary level-OK, and I am a native French speaker as well! To find the links, go to My Languages then scroll down to a long list of keywords to the right (delicious tags), just click on the relevant keyword to get an updated list of links to resources e.g. French, Spanish... You can filter for just Primary resources by clicking +primary once in del.icio.us to get a list of French or Spanish Primary resources only.

thanks for the contact Lisa - it will be great knowing there is some support out there. I loved the teacher tube conjugation video - I will definitely join the blog. I will start teaching in September at my new centre providing I have enough clients. I also offer Aromatherapy from the same site - will send some photos when it's all done. Nice to know you. Best wishes Jane
