Hi All For those visiting the Education Show this year, EMAS uk will be hosting a series of workshops and talks at their first `Language Information Point’.Four or five sessions per day over the 3 days of the show (15th, 16th, 17th March) led by head teachers, classroom teachers, consultants and publishers.I’ll be doing a session on books and stories with lots of books to look at (before making choices and potentially expensive mistakes!).The sessions also include presentations for EAL and…See More

Bedford Borough Conference June 29th.

Hi AllI posted this message earlier on the CILT Primary Languages forum: As we all know, these are difficult times for languages, Primary in particular, but it doesn’t mean we give up! In Bedford we remain committed to supporting languages teaching and learning; our cross-phase conference is going ahead on 29th June despite quite challenging circumstances! We have an excellent line-up of national and regional speakers (for all phases) who are supporting our initiative. Some great exhibitors too+…See More

CILT merges with CfBT

So, CILT has merged with CfBT!In many ways this is not a huge surprise but in others it is a source of regret that one more institution, which I personally have relied on for years and years, is changing and maybe not for the better? Who knows just yet. Apparently all major programmes will continue to be supported; Primary languages? You have to hope!According to their tweet the resources library will go and there will be no more enquiry service but, of course, both could be run on line…See More

The status quo for Primary Languages

I'm re-posting this post which I put on the Primary Languages Forum; all comments welcome:Hi AllMany of us, on this forum and beyond, are deeply concerned about the future of primary languages. Given that the new curriculum did not get through parliament at theend of the last government and the lack of clarification by the new government,it seems that we are left, not just in limbo, but in a potentially perilousposition. This video was released by Teachers TV yesterday:…See More

Hello
Yes, Routes into Languages does primarily run activities and events aimed at pupils in Key Stage 3 but for the purposes of the pack the materials can be used with upper Key Stage 2.
Many thanks
