Profile Information

I will/do teach the following languages:
French
About Me:
Although I have no formal qualifications to teach French (other than O Level!!) I have managed to spearhead the introduction of French throughout our whole school. My colleagues have been fantastic and responded to my enthusiasm, even those with almost no prior knowledge. (See case study on DCS site)
Favorite MFL resource:
Songs!
People who can speak French (we have some of the local twinning group to come and enjoy French conversation with small groups)

Bienvenu , hello u. herzlich Wilkommen,
Glad you spotted the German sub-group. really worried how German is being 'sidelined', so always keen to contact anyone keen to keep up the profile, even if it is only via a club.
Looking forward to sharing

Bonjour Celia

Welcome to our friendly group!
I hope you find it useful and I am looking forward to sharing ideas and resources with you. You may be intested in the links to the resources I have on my blog for French as I have taught it both at Primary and secondary level. To find the links, go to My Languages then scroll down to a long list of keywords to the right (delicious tags), just click on the relevant keyword to get an updated list of links to resources e.g. French. You can filter for just Primary resources by clicking +primary once in del.icio.us to get a list of French Primary resources only.

I hope it is of use... Give us a shout if you need anything specific!!

No photo? You could create a weemee (see Joe Dale's blog) of yourself, save as ajpeg and upload that. (easier to do than it sounds, just follow the instructions on screen - kids could create their own and use them for MFL descriptions). Delete Comment

This is a 'round robin' post on how to use site - apologies to those who know their way around better than I do and hopefully this is useful to those who don't...yet!

To get stuff that people have posted - MAIN page, click on blog post that interests you and then all links should be underlined and will take you to new site automatically if clicked on, and documents that you can download are highlighted or sometimes in a list at the end - just click on each individually to download. At moment MAIN features my blog but it can feature also feature other peoples.

To view other blogs click on the MEMBERS page and then on the member whose blog you want to see. If you click on Isabelle, she already has a blog hosted on another site, so instead of starting another one here she has put a link to her blog on her details which display down the left side of her page.

To start your own blog click on the MY PAGE tag (this takes you to your page as in Jenny's page!!) and at the top left there is a little green + sign that says ADD BLOG POST. Click on it and type away. There are little symbols at the top of the box where you type to add a link (highlight text, click little chainlink sign and enter http in the box) and add documents - either by using copy paste like you do in word if it is part of your blog post, or if you want it to be a document (including music picture spreadsheet whiteboard etc) for people to download click on the little attachment/document symbol and then BROWSE to find it on your computer and then ADD. When you are done, click PREVIEW at the end to see what it will look like to others and then Post. There is a tiny little button on the end that then also lets you feature it on the MAIN page if you want. just click it.

FORUM works in the same way - try clicking on a discussion to READ MORE and then click on links which are added in the same way as for a blog, and/or on a document to download. On the FORUM tag page is also, top right, you can START A DISCUSSION or in an existing discussion click on ADD COMMENT.

To contact/leave messages for people, either click on MY PAGE and then MY FRIENDS and then their picture to get to their page, or do the same by clicking MEMBERS and just on the picture of the person you want to contact/see their blog if they have one. Just type a comment in the comment box and click ADD comment when done. This means the comment/conversation can be seen by everyone. If you want to keep it private, click on the SEND MESSAGE underneath their picture on their page.

Hopefully this makes things a little easier - let me know if things don't seem to be working. I think I will copy this and post it as a comment to everybody just in case if you don't mind.

best wishes, Jo
