I've been teaching my KS2s for 3 weeks now, and last week, having looked at the written words for the numbers 1-10, we extrapolated the ce/ci/z + th pronunciation rule and the v=b one. I'd like to continue next week with some vowel work, but am find…

World Cup 2010

Here in Sunderland we're on a bit of a roll with football, being the only NE team in the Premiership and all. (No hard feelings, Newcastle and Middlesbrough fans!) Last week saw the conference for the NE branch of the Regional Network for International Learning a.k.a. Atlas, and I was asked to do a workshop on the forthcoming World Cup and suggest some activities for primary schools. So many of the ideas are easy to adapt for the languages classroom, I thought I would post the link.… Continue

Theatre in Spanish for primary children

Thought I would bring this to the attention of folks who do Spanish, especially as you seem to lose out to French in terms of resources and so on. A Cuerpo is a theatre company offering performances, workshops and resources for KS2 Spanish. They are based in the Leicester but could travel further afield.

Sing a French song !

A couple of weeks ago I discovered that we had in the LA a very talented French assistant who sang and played the guitar. Last week we set up an impromptu recording studio at the Sandhill Centre and recorded 25 French songs, some traditional, some not so traditional. I'm so glad I found out about her the week before their contract ended and not the week after ! You'll find all the songs in mp3 format here httpContinue

An AST in Global Education too! Where do you get the time?! Actually this is fantastic news - are you happy for me to refer people to you with questions about this? Also am in process of setting up a wiki to try and organise the site a little better - I want to add an eTwinning/Global Education page so can I put a link to you on that too? It'll be a while before it's all done as I'm trying to grab time between reports and schooltrips and end-of-term mayhem to edit it - and if anyone wants the password to add/edit stuff themselves let me know ;-)
Hope all is well with you up up at the top end of the country. It's gone all wet and soggy again down here!

This forum and the TES forum are certainly becoming very effective for transmitting practical information such as your songs.
The NACELL forum seems to be losing its edge as, in my opinion, we only see very few responses and, what could potentially be very useful information, esp. about commercial resources, only goes to the original poster.
If Primary MFL is to make real headway we need to be sharingmuch more.
Sorry, bit of a rant- think I'll post it on the main page and see what response we get!

Me again! - forgot to say before - the site is set up so that all blogs are automatically feature on the 'main' page and not just your own pages (unless you click viewable just by my friends or similar). Hope this is ok (if not leave a comment or send me a message) - I presumed it would be ok as the link you gave is fantastic and will be really useful. Thank you!

Hi Clare! Cool - you are a 'Webmistress' - that is such an excellent title! Actually I do love your sites - they feature heavily in our del.icio.us links ;o)
Have fun finding your way around the ning - and thank you for sharing ideas with us! There is a real mix of members - from TA's to Advisors, Secondary and Primary trained, some going it alone, some been doing it for years - but ALL are very friendly!
Look forward to sharing more soon.
