I totally agree- absolutely no point in reinventing the wheel! And this is lovely.
I'm actually doing much the same thing but in reverse- and I have no Italian! Can you tell me, is mi metto the same as je mets in French i.e. I put on an item of clothing?
In hope,
Jan
I'm finishing off the resources directory for Cambridgeshire and inevitably the Italian section is very thin indeed! I have one resource by Brilliant Publications and that is about it I'll email you next week if that is OK as I want to be able to give our teachers more support if I can.
Will also check out the Usborne link.
To upload a resource you need first to sign up as a member, then on the page you should see 'edit this page' in the top right. Click and wait a minute while the page reloads and is now 'editable' just as you would type into a word document.
To upload an image or a file you have made, first make sure the cursor (little flashing arrow/line where the typing goes!) is where you want to put the document, then click on the tiny little icon of a picture in the bar that will have appeared at the top of the page. You will be prompted to 'browse' for your file, just as if you are attaching a document to an email. So find the document, click upload and wait a minute. You will then be show a list of all the docs ever uploaded to the wiki - a little annoying and unecessary sorry - but yours will briefly flash as pale yellow, double click on it and it will appear on the page as a line of code.
click 'save' at the top of the page and when the page reloads you should see your resource file uploaded. You can always click edit again and delete anything / move it around so don't worry about pressing the worng button!
To upload things here in the ning is easier still. Start a 'blog' (Go to blogs and click add blog) or a new forum chat discussion (Go to forum and click add a discussion)
Then in this text box you can type away to tell us what you are adding and then add files by clicking the little icon of a paper sheet in the bar at the top of the text box and finding your file as you would do an email attachment. You can link to sites by highlighting text and then clicking the icon of the chain and entering the web addresss. The B makes text bold when you highlight it and the other symbols are for italics, underlines, crossing out and adding pictures.
Phew that's more explanation than you needed I expect! Anyway press some buttons and click away - you can not break the ning site honest!

Glad that you joined as there aren't many of us out there!
I hope that we will be able to share resources and ideas and point each other in the direction of things of interest. I'm trying to adapt resources I've used for French into Italian and have posted some here - some are my own and others have been adapted from resources made by others in Spanish or French.
Looking forward to talking and sharing with you.

Have you come across any commercially produced resources for Italian that you could recommend? Or story books?
Thanks
