Talkabout Primary Languages

A network for all who teach languages to children

I've been teaching my KS2s for 3 weeks now, and last week, having looked at the written words for the numbers 1-10, we extrapolated the ce/ci/z + th pronunciation rule and the v=b one. I'd like to continue next week with some vowel work, but am finding it difficult to find some suitable text to practice with.

I've found this:
A, a, a, mi burrita mala está,
E, e, e, a mi me gusta el café,
I, I, I en un libro yo leí,
O, o, o, mi burrito se asustó,
U, u, u a mi no me pegas tú
Se lo digo a mi papá,
Cuando vengas del Perú
U, u, u, a mi no me pegas tú.

which I think needs changing a bit to make it more "current". Does anyone know of any other resources that would be suitable for years 4, 5 and 6 ?

Can anyone point me in the direction of any other resources for further work ?

Thanks !
Clare
