Thanks Barbara for your suggestions. I will look at the resources and let you know how I got on.  I really appreciated your response.

Just remembered a free Australian site too.  If there's any money available for resources for Primary Languages in the school budget then a subscription to Linguafun would provide you with a whole wealth of resources for Italian as one subscription gives you access to 4 languages.

Hi Josephine

I'm not teaching Italian at the moment but when I did, I just followed a French scheme I had, changing it to Italian.

One resource I would recommend is Italiano, Italiano which has simple conversations and fun songs to reinforce the lanaguage.

I'm so glad to see that there is a group for Italian Primary Teachers.  I am thinking of starting an Italian club but I am not sure what resources would be suitable. Any suggestions?

Ciao Fancesca,
Benvenuta!
Senz'altro ti chiedero' se ho bisogno :)
Se Possiamo fare un piccolo scambio dei quaderni con il titolo La mia Scuola con delle foto e linguaggio molto semplice sarebbe bello per la prima classe.

Ciao a tutti! Insegno inglese in una scuola primaria vicino a Firenze, ma ho esperienza di insegnamento dell'italiano come L2. Se avete bisogno di qualcosa, io ci sono! ;-)

Hi Marianne

There aren't many of us out there who teach Italian so it is lovely to add one more person to our small group. Ben venuta!

I have focussed on French for the past year so have not had the opportunity or time to add any resources in Italian to the site. If you do want to share anything you have done, they can be uploaded directly here or alternatively there is an Italian section on the wiki which can be accessed at the top of the main page.

I'd love to hear more about the CLIL activities you have been involved in, so please do give us more details.

Hello everyone,
I teach Italian from Reception to Year 4 as part of our curriculum. Italian is taught using CLIL and it is brilliant! We have a partner school in Rovigo who has a class on our Virtual Learning Environment. We had our first visit to Italy last month with Year 4 pupils. They went to Venice, on a gondola and for amazing walks in the mountains. We try to choose an objective which is already on the plan to teach totally in Italian. The children are engaged and love languages :)
