I really recommend Northumberland Grid fo learning - The have got fairy tales translated into French, German, Spanish and Italian and resources that go with them. I have just done a great haf term with year 5 lookink at Red Riding Hood in German.

Thanks for that Thea. I have used fairy tales given to me previously by the local regional support group for French. I will certainly look at the Northumberland gfl and hope to promote primary German. I like using traditional tales as the children have a familiar story to follow - I have used them in KS1 in French as well as KS2.
Agree that stories (and rhymes songs etc.) are very motivational.
I'm trying to build up a collection of traditional tales. If anyone has anything on Der Rattenfaenger (von Hameln) or Die Bremerstadtmusikanten- I thought these would be good for extending cultural knowledge
Have you searched www.google.de? I came up with http://www.kinder.niedersachsen.de/index.php?id=624

There is a nice little Hörspiel which could be amended and made simpler. Good luck. Please let me know how you get on.
