Talkabout Primary Languages

A network for all who teach languages to children

Hi there chaps

Some of you may remember that about a year ago I posted up a series of PowerPoint stories for classroom storytelling in English with 3-6 year-olds.

I'm pleased to say that the feedback's been really positive and the site's had thousands of visits with hundreds of teachers using the material. I've recently added a second series of Reg and lellow and also a new series with a nre character: Humphrey Bogin (if you Google image the name you'll see a picture of Humphrey sat on the beach!). The HB stories are for 6-9 year-olds (my approximations only).

Also, we're soon to be posting up the sirst series of Reg and Lellow in Castellano as well. Incidentally, all the R+L stories come in a text free version too, so you could check out the story in English yourself then retell it in class in any language. the powerPoint documents are also fully downloadable and modifiable, so you could insert your own text into the slides. Sweet eh?

It's all completely non.commercial and free. Enjoy!

Merci!

Love the text free versions - have passed on the link to our EMTAS team so they can share with the community teachers to use in Polish, Urdu and other less commonly taught languages.
Thanks Jo that's fab. And you might want to remind them that if they did want to make their own text stories they could use the existing text boxes and speech bubbles but simply type over the English .

Magic. Cheers.

Chris.
Looking forward to the Spanish version :o)

I seem to recognise that profile picture of yours Lisa. Got a feeling you've been with us on the R+L site for a while - cheers! Yeah, looking to get the first series translated and posted for the new year. It may happen earlier than that though. Chris
Yup - that's me ;o)

Now it's weird how a bit of positive feedback can get something moving. Since your last mail I've mailed my translator (happens to be my partner as well) the text for the first one and we'll get that posted up next week.

Cheers

Chris (and the blobs).
