Talkabout Primary MFL

A network for anyone teaching languages in Primary

Hi all,

Can anybody recommend any FREE interactive online resources for Halloween in French and Italian? We are lucky enough to have access to the ICT suite this Friday and I would like to let the children have some fun time on a trustworthy website and maybe play a game or two as a whole group, on the interactive whiteboard. I have Y5 Italian and Y6 French.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I used this website http://www.boowakwala.com/enfants/boowakwala-homeevents.html last week with my class and if you click on 'octobre' there are loads of different games and halloween songs and activities that your group could do individually or together. Barbara on this site also kindly recommended 'la chanson des squelettes' from youtube which my class loved watching and singing along to on the IWB.
Hope this helps!

Hi, also I think www.linguafun.eu is offering free access to the Halloween section;

it has a very good variety of activities (memory games, repeat the sequence, guess the item, Sudoku, drag and drop etc) that my children enjoy and you can use it with the whole class on the IWB, or individually, in the ICT suite;

Hope this helps,
Matthew

I was going to recommend Linguascope too! Also check out Youtube for some clips - there's a thread on the main page about Henri Des that includes links to Les esquelettes.

Thanks everybody, I appreciate all your help.

Matthew, thanks for the link to Linguafun, I've requested my free password 1 hour ago and they were so quick to respond, I had my login details in less than 10 minutes! I've already had a look at their activities, that's exactly what I was after, can't wait to try them with my Y5 & 6 groups on Friday. I'll let you know how I got on, Friday evening. Thanks Lisa, I've tried linguascope too, but they do not offer free access (I don't think that the two companies are related, or are they, and I'm afraid we can't afford £200+ for a licence anyway).

Hi Miley,
this is not much, but could help! It's a link to my Italin blog and a post I added last year.
